About Carniche
We have been exporting cars primarily to the UK and Australia since 1989.
We were pretty much the first company to supply the UK market with both new and used vehicles at a time (1989/1990) when the huge amounts Japanese manufactures had invested in R&D in the previous 3 or so years were paying off with a plethora of stunning new models.
The BNR32 GT-R, Lexus Coupe (new shape Soarer) RX7, the Honda NSX and Honda Beat to name but a few and none of which were available in the UK at the time.
Carniche was incorporated in 2001 and as competition intensified the company moved increasingly into more niche areas of the market such as brand new Impressa WRX Sti’s and Mitsubishi Lancer Evolutions.
To this day most customers have come through ”word of mouth” and from a loyal dealer base built up over many years of business.
Requests and quotes
We tend not to stock a lot of cars and mainly buy to order but are happy to search for any particular model (we are members of pretty much every auction in Japan) and give a rough idea of cost for any vehicle depending on the many variables.
We cannot and do not attempt to compete with the big exporters.
They have huge stock and though the cars look cheap they are always listed as C&F prices i.e. including freight. The freight charges are often double the going rate and that is how they make their margins.
Our customers pay the shipping company direct so there is complete transparency.
As our name suggests we tend to specialise in niche JDM vehicles and “semi-classics” from the eighties and early nineties.
We help customers access Japanese car auctions, find their ideal vehicles, place bids and handle the entire import process.
